The smell of ginger filled the meeting room of the Caroline County Public Library. The free cooking demonstration had guests’ mouths watering.
On June 9, Priority Partners and the Maryland Food Bank hosted a free event in Federalsburg, MD. MFB’s executive chef, Alex Thacker, showed guests how to make a chicken and vegetable stir fry. The demo featured how to steam rice, chop vegetables, chicken and garlic, mix a sauce and cook it all together.
After the meal was cooked for them, guests took home boxes with all the ingredients and the recipe to make the meal at home for free. This was the first of a few planned Healthy Hacks events, part of the Priority Partners Cupboards Project.
Look out for more info on upcoming Healthy Hack events, so you can join the next one!
